Ribbon bookmarks and ribbon book markers

Ribbon bookmarks and ribbon book markers.
Ribbon bookmarks or ribbon book markers as we sometimes call them, are sewn into hardcover books. Head and tail bands should match or coordinate with the ribbon marker, if adding head and tail bands as an option. Most of the time head and tail bands are automatically in hardcover books as they rarely cost any more. But, they make the books so much more special. It is a customization.
The ribbon markers sew into the spine and hard case of a hardcover book. Therefore, we cannot sew either ribbon bookmarks or head and tail bands into softcover books. That’s because softcover books do not have a hard case.
In the photo …
The author for the book in this photo, chose an orange ribbon book mark to go with white head and tail bands. The color combination matches their logo and the design of the book. There is another photo in the feature image at the top of this post. It shows just three ribbon bookmarks. There are quite a few other colors to choose from. We can also bind three bookmarks in a book. The gray, orange and purple would be beautiful. See a book with red, white, and blue over at Star Print Brokers options gallery.
A ribbon marker is great for notebooks and journals with elastic bands. They are wonderful to keep your place in a cookbook. Larger cookbooks often have two ribbon markers sewn in. It makes any book that much more special.
Useful, decorative, and varied
A ribbon marker is useful to hold the reader’s place as well as decorative. Ribbon markers come in different widths and colors. A rough texture is available, as are satin and gros grain ribbons. Some styles such as the satin ribbons, can be imprinted with text, a quote or company name or a logo.
Ribbon bookmarks are not available for print-on-demand books
Just like head and tail bands, the ribbon marker is not typically found with on-demand services.
