A journal or notebook with an elastic band.
A journal or notebook with an elastic band can be made in so many ways and with so many different options. The elastic is on the back cover, but the reader pulls it over both covers to secure the book. A journal or notebook with an elastic band can be made in so many ways and with so many different options. The photo in the feature image on this post, shows the front cover without any embellishment.
Start by selecting your options for the hardcover book. The book in this photograph is a hardcover with gray cloth and gray elastic.
Choose the covering material, whether it is cloth, a faux leather, or a printed cover wrap with your own design. The cloth and faux leather come in a variety of colors, as does the elastic band.
You can add a ribbon marker that is the same color as the elastic, but this is optional.
More options
Hardcover books can have padding too. Be sure to add this to “Comments” on the quote request form at Star Print Brokers. Add a blind stamp. Blind means that the line art, like a logo, is pressed or stamped into the cover.
You can also have a foil stamp. The first thing that comes to mind with self-publishers when they hear the word “foil” is silver or gold foil. Star Print Brokers can stamp different colors of gold, silver, bronze, rainbow foil, and more. We have foils with patterns. The notebook or journal can be stamped with a matte or gloss foil.
Perhaps you would opt for a black, blue, or red foil stamp. Imagine the cover with your logo or book title in a matte black foil stamp.
Because the journal or notebook is essentially a hardcover book with a thin flexible cover, it will have endpapers. The default stock for endpapers is plain white stock. They can also have printing in color with your design, or choose a specialty paper. We can even add a pocket or gusset on the endpapers inside the front or back covers.
