A book box is also a bumper box, an option

A book box is also a bumper box, an option.
A book box is also a bumper box. They are an option to use to ship or mail as it protects the book. This is a box we custom manufacture at the same time the book is on press. We only sell bumper boxes with book printing. The bumpers as seen in the image above, are on either side of the book that is put in the box.
A bumper box can have a plain white exterior as seen in the image, or it can be craft paper as seen on the interior of the box.
The outside of the box can print on press too. A beautiful treatment is to have the outside
printing with the same design as might be on the endpapers of the book.
You may request that the book be put into into the bumper box without sealing it.
How to use the box
By not sealing the box, a bill of sale, a thank you, a letter, or extra marketing slips may be put inside. The author would then seal the box with a wide strip of sealing tape. Then, the box is almost ready to mail or ship. The finishing touch is addressing the box. Some options are:
- FedEx or UPS label that affixes to the front of the bumper box.
- Affix your own mailing label.
- Print a mailing label to go with the outside design of the box.
- Write the address in an area intentionally left blank.
Note: If addresses will be handwritten, discuss this with the printer to see if a coated or a stock with a coating would be best.

Ask the printer for a box measurement template. Be sure to get the template from whoever will print your book as color can vary among printers, even if using the same designer who coordinated both files. If you are matching the book design to the box design, this is especially important to work with the same printer.
